Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your Arusha hotel. A comfortable drive transports you to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its significant elephant population and majestic baobab trees. After swift park entry formalities, you’ll embark on a full day of thrilling game drives along the Tarangire River, a magnet for wildlife during the dry season. Expect to see large herds of elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and various antelopes, along with predators. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park. In the late afternoon, you’ll drive to a lodge or tented camp in Karatu, near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you’ll depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a small but ecologically diverse park nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You’ll enjoy a morning game drive, looking for the famous tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and an incredible array of birdlife, particularly flamingos along the lake’s edge. After a packed lunch in Manyara, you will continue your journey towards the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park, making your way to your chosen lodge or tented camp in the central Seronera region. The afternoon offers an initial game drive in the Serengeti as you approach your accommodation, settling in for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Full Day Serengeti National Park
Today is dedicated to an extensive full-day game drive in the magnificent Serengeti National Park. After an early breakfast, your Maasai Spirit Expedition guide will lead you to prime wildlife viewing areas. Depending on the time of year, you might track the Great Wildebeest Migration, or focus on the abundant resident wildlife, including lion prides, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, and a huge variety of plains game. The endless plains offer spectacular photographic opportunities and thrilling wildlife encounters. A picnic lunch will be served in the heart of the bush. You’ll return to your Serengeti accommodation in the late afternoon for dinner and another night under the endless African sky.
Day 4: Full Day Serengeti National Park (Second Full Day)
Another full day is dedicated to exploring the unparalleled wilderness of the Serengeti. This additional day allows for a deeper immersion, giving you the flexibility to explore different sectors of the park or revisit areas with recent sightings. Your guide will adapt the day’s itinerary to follow animal movements, ensuring optimal game viewing. Whether it’s witnessing a dramatic predator-prey interaction, observing large herds, or simply enjoying the vast, unspoiled landscapes, this day offers more opportunities for truly memorable moments. All meals will be enjoyed in the park, culminating in another night at your Serengeti lodge or tented camp.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After a final early morning game drive in the Serengeti and a late breakfast, you’ll begin your scenic drive out of the park, heading towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Your journey takes you up to the majestic rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll be greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of the caldera below. You’ll check into your lodge or tented camp situated on the crater rim or in the nearby Karatu area. The afternoon offers time to relax and absorb the stunning surroundings. Dinner and overnight will be at your chosen accommodation, with anticipation building for the next day’s descent.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive to Arusha
Today is dedicated to the extraordinary Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After an early breakfast, you’ll make the thrilling descent 600 meters to the crater floor. This natural amphitheater is a wildlife paradise, boasting an incredibly high concentration of animals, including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and an excellent chance to spot the endangered black rhino. You’ll enjoy an extensive game drive within this unique caldera, with a picnic lunch served on the crater floor. In the mid-afternoon, you will ascend the crater walls and begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon, concluding your immersive safari adventure.
