Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, your Maasai Spirit Expedition guide will complete park formalities, and you’ll immediately embark on a thrilling game drive. You’ll spend the day exploring Tarangire’s vast landscapes, renowned for its massive elephant herds that often congregate along the Tarangire River. Keep an eye out for lions, zebras, wildebeest, and various antelopes as you traverse plains dotted with iconic baobab trees. A packed lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic picnic spot within the park. In the late afternoon, after a full day of exhilarating game viewing, you will exit the park and drive to a comfortable lodge or tented camp located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, specifically in Karatu, for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive to Arusha
Today promises an early start as you head towards the majestic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After a brief stop at the crater rim for awe-inspiring panoramic views, you will descend 600 meters onto the Ngorongoro Crater floor. Here, you’ll embark on an intensive game drive within this UNESCO World Heritage Site, often described as a “natural wonder of the world” due to its incredible concentration of wildlife, including the possibility of spotting the “Big Five” within a few hours. Lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and an array of birdlife thrive in this unique caldera. A picnic lunch will be served on the crater floor. In the mid-afternoon, you will ascend the crater walls and begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon with memories of an extraordinary safari experience.
